The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has charged a man with the murder of a 6-year-old girl.

On February 18, 2024, officers responded to Allison Street and found a 6-year-old girl unresponsive. She was taken to a local hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and pronounced dead by hospital staff.
Action News Jax learned a week later that Tyrone Golson, who lived in the home where the child was found, had been arrested as part of an investigation by the Florida Department of Children and Families for sexual activity with a minor.

After further investigation by the JSO and an autopsy by the coroner, it was determined that the child died of multiple blunt force trauma and diphenhydramine poisoning.
Golson has now been charged with the child’s murder.
