A Southern California teenager who has been missing for more than a month was found safe in Mendocino County on Thursday, officials said.
The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that 17-year-old Serenity McKinnon may not have been in the area until Monday. McKinnon was reported missing in San Diego County in September and authorities believe she is in danger.
Additional details about her disappearance were not immediately available. Officers would not say where in the province she may have been seen.
Late Thursday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office said she had been found safe in Mendocino County, but investigators did not release details about when or where she was located.
