PATERSON – A Paterson Police Department officer was arrested Monday on charges that he exposed himself in front of a child in Bloomfield, according to multiple law enforcement sources.
The accused officer, Angel Acevedo, who is 31, has been suspended without pay for 90 days, sources said. Acevedo began working for the Paterson Police Department in July 2019, according to city payroll records.
Paterson police declined to comment on the charges against Acevedo.

Paterson Press asked the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office about the case. But officials there provided no information about Acevedo’s arrest.
Bloomfield police did not respond to a message left at the deputy chief’s office regarding the Acevedo case.
