SAN FRANCISCO – A pedestrian was killed Saturday morning after a crash involving an on-duty police officer in San Francisco, authorities said.
San Francisco police said they responded around 6:20 a.m. to a vehicle collision involving an on-duty San Francisco police officer and a man near Bayshore Boulevard and Industrial Street.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died, police said. His identification has not been released.
The officer did not report any injuries.
The crash happened about five minutes later San Francisco’s first ever tornado warning expired.
Police have not released any details about the cause of the crash, including whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk.
The crash is still under investigation.
