According to a news release, the plea deal shows that federal agents executed a search warrant at Frakes’ home in July.

They found “22 caliber rifle with a threaded barrel, three silencers, a rifle with a 7 ½ inch long barrel and a .45 caliber machine gun.” None of these were registered with Frakes in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.

According to the press release, he is retired from the U.S. Navy, where his primary duties were as a weapons instructor for Atlantic Fleet squadrons.

Frakes faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
