The Warriors are feeling good about themselves seven games into the 2024-25 NBA season.

Steph Curry returned to the lineup and helped the Warriors improve to 6-1 with a 125-112 victory over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena on Monday night.

Curry, who missed the last three games with a left ankle injury, spoke with Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Festus Ezeli on NBC Sports Bay Area’s “Warriors Postgame Live” immediately after the win.

“I feel good,” Curry said. “Our medical team, [director of sports medicine and performance] Rick Celebrini and everyone are making sure I’m bulletproof before I get back and obviously a little restriction to make sure.

“But it’s nice to be back there with my guys. Like you said, they’re taking care of business, the last three games, and in a pretty solid way. I didn’t want to be the weak link tonight and try to get out there come and do my part, but we are vibrating right now.

The Warriors entered the season hoping the revamped roster would work out, but anyone would be lying if they said they expected to be atop the Western Conference standings heading into a big showdown with the Boston Celtics (7-1 ) on Wednesday night at TD Garden, followed by games at Cleveland (8-0) and Oklahoma City (6-0) to conclude the road trip.

“We’re just trying to get better,” Curry said. ‘We know we still have a long way to go [with] There are three tough matches coming up. But I think we’ve really built an identity defensively, how we try to move the ball on offense, create good shots, Buddy Hield is playing great, Draymond [Green] score the ball. So everyone is participating and it’s great to see.”

Curry finished with a team-high 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and 4-of-9 from 3-point range in just under 25 minutes of action.

With a gauntlet of top opponents looming, Curry is happy to come through Monday’s match in good form.

Off to Boston for the vibrant Warriors.
