A Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (MSGA) student was arrested Monday after bringing a gun to school.
According to MSGA Executive Director Keynun Campbell, a parent reported Monday afternoon after school dismissal that their child had seen another student with a gun.
Marietta police investigated the claim, visited the child at their home and interviewed other students.

Their investigation revealed that a student had a gun in the bathroom before school.
The same student also showed the gun to another student on the school bus that same morning.
The gun remained in the student’s locker all day and was not taken into any classroom.
They believe the student displayed the gun on the school bus to “show off” and did not threaten anyone with it.
The loaded gun was seized by police.
Police said the student would be charged and would not return to school on Tuesday.
