News Center 7 reported earlier in June that West Main Street between Plum and Cherry streets was closed to both pedestrians and vehicles after the building’s superintendent and the Troy fire chief determined the Tavern Building was unsafe.

On Thursday evening, the Miami County Building Department determined that the requirements to stabilize work on the 112-118 W. Main Street buildings have been completed, according to the Miami County Commissioner’s Office.

The lifting of the order clears the way for the reopening of West Main Street between Cherry Street and Plum Street, just west of Troy’s Public Square.
