The German Habeck departs on a trip to East Asia

German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck leaves on Wednesday on a trip to East Asia.

His first destination is South Korea, where the Minister of Economy wants to meet representatives from politics and business. The Green politician will be accompanied by a business delegation and members of the Bundestag.

The Economy Ministry says South Korea is Germany’s second most important market in Asia, with goods exports – mainly cars and auto parts – worth about €20 billion ($21.5 billion).

South Korea, in turn, is a major producer of information and communications technology.

Tensions are rising again at the border with communist-ruled North Korea. Habeck plans to travel to China on Friday.
