The German Vice Chancellor spends the morning in the air raid shelter in Kiev

German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck began working in a shelter in Kiev on Friday due to the threat of incoming Russian missiles and drones.

At 4:40 a.m. (01:40 GMT), an air raid siren went off in Kiev, forcing Habeck and his entourage to seek shelter in their hotel’s underground parking garage for about an hour and a half before the all-clear signal was given.

Habeck arrived in Ukraine on Thursday. He is expected to hold more meetings on Friday before traveling to Moldova, where he will meet Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, several rockets were the cause of the air raid, which initially headed towards northern Ukrainian areas and then veered off course.

Russian attacks were reported overnight in the Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions.

According to Ukrainian air defense authorities, 15 of the 22 missiles and all 14 drones were intercepted during the night.

Russian authorities also complained about air strikes. There was a rocket alert last night in the Belgorod region, located on the border with Ukraine.
