After airing a few episodes during the fall TV season, many shows go into hibernation during the holidays, only to be revived in the early months of the new year. From new shows like the dizzying Doctor Odyssey to bring back classics like Grey’s anatomy, Many series will restart in 2025 with shocking storylines and fresh new guest stars.
There are a lot of shows to browse, so Yahoo Entertainment has created a list of new and returning series that have unfinished business (or unseen episodes airing). And get your calendars ready: We’ve locked in the return and premiere dates for as many popular series as possible.
New series returns to conclude first season
Our choice: High potential
-
When: High potential returns January 7 on ABC.
-
What you need to know: Kaitlin Olson stars as a single mother with an insanely high IQ who works as a cleaner for the Los Angeles Police Department when she accidentally discovers she has a knack for solving crime and starts consulting on homicide cases.

Why you should watch: The show puts a refreshing and heartfelt spin on police procedurals, and audience members get to solve the crime alongside the characters. It became an instant hit and only seven episodes have aired so far (including the shocking midseason finale), so catching up won’t be a chore.

-
Why you should watch: This season premiered with a three-episode arc about a “bee-nado,” which is as over-the-top and campy as it sounds, but somehow still exceeds all expectations.
