The win in Texas moves Chase Elliott one win away from setting a record in the modern NASCAR era

Chase Elliott’s win last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway puts him one win closer to a record in the modern NASCAR era (since 1972).

Elliott’s last thirteen Cup wins have all come at different tracks. That’s one shy of the modern-era record shared by Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. Both had streaks of 14 consecutive victories at different tracks.

Who’s in, who’s out of the NASCAR playoff rankings after Texas

Two former cup champions are outside a play-off spot for a third of the regular season.

The all-time NASCAR record is 21 consecutive wins at different tracks by Richard Petty. Twenty of those wins came in the 1967 season. The last win in that streak was in 1968.

Hamlin’s streak started in the fall race at Texas in 2010 and continued through the regular season finale of Richmond in 2016.

Larson’s streak started with his victory in the second race in Michigan in 2017 and continued with his victory in Fontana, California, in 2022.

Winners, losers after NASCAR Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway

Chase Elliott wasn’t the only one who left the track with a good feeling on Sunday.

The Cup Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend and Dover the following weekend. Elliott has already won at both tracks during his current streak.

The May 5 race at Kansas Speedway will be Elliott’s first chance to give Hamlin and Larson 14 straight wins at different tracks.

Here’s a look at each of the victories Hamlin, Larson, Elliott and Petty scored at several consecutive tracks.
