BOSTON – The WBZ Weather Team is issuing a NEXT Weather Alert Thursday due to the threat of thunderstorms.
While Thursday doesn’t look like a “classic” severe weather situation in this area, there is a risk of thunderstorms, some of which could reach severe levels.
The Storms Prediction Center placed most of southern New England at a “marginal” risk for severe weather on Thursday.

The first window comes very late Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning.
It will be another very warm day… temperatures will already be in the low 70s as many head out in the morning.
Even with limited sunshine, highs could easily climb well into the 80s north and west of Boston.

There will also be a fair amount of humidity in the air on Thursday… dew points in the mid 60s will make it feel a bit uncomfortable.

Each of these storms may bring frequent lightning, brief heavy rain showers, and some damaging winds and small hail.
CBS Boston
Again, we don’t expect widespread damage or organized, high-level severe weather… but it will be a day to stay aware of the updated forecasts, especially if you have plans to be outside.
