There is an increased risk of thunderstorms with the threat of hail and tornadoes over southern Iowa into northern Missouri and west-central Illinois, the National Weather Service said in a message on X.

Central and eastern Iowa into northwestern Illinois and northern Missouri could see supercell thunderstorms with the potential to produce damaging winds, hail and tornadoes EF2 or stronger, the Weather Channel reported. Severe weather will extend from the Upper and Mid-Mississippi River valleys to parts of the Ozarks region ahead of a cold front, according to the channel.
On Wednesday, storms will move eastward into the Ohio Valley from southern Michigan ahead of the cold front. Tornadoes, high winds and hail remain possible threats to the region.
