Ukraine and Russia report downing drones and missiles in nighttime strikes

Ukraine and Russia each reported thwarting drone and missile attacks from the other side overnight.

Ukrainian air defenses destroyed all 13 incoming drones Russia launched into seven regions, the air force said. No damage from falling debris has been reported so far.

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, who arrived in Kiev for talks on Thursday, was informed of the latest Russian attack. During his morning visit, an air raid siren also sounded in the Ukrainian capital.

In Moscow, the Russian Defense Ministry said 45 drones, missiles and other projectiles fired from Ukraine had been intercepted.

In Russia’s border region of Belgorod, a woman was injured when falling debris from a projectile crashed into a house, damaging its roof and a wall, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

In the Rostov region, authorities said debris from a downed drone crashed onto an industrial building. One employee was injured.

In the Voronezh region, authorities reported that one person was injured and four houses were damaged after a drone was shot down.
