A candlelight vigil will be held Thursday evening for a fitness instructor who was killed at a North Texas church, marking the eighth anniversary of her unsolved murder.
Terri “Missy” Bevers, a 45-year-old mother of three, died on April 18, 2016, from stab wounds to her head and chest, when she was attacked while teaching a boot camp fitness class at Creekside Church . of Christ in Midlothian.
Surveillance footage from inside the church showed the apparent perpetrator, dressed in SWAT team-style tactical gear, breaking into the building and having been inside for some time prior to the murder.
Bevers’ students found her dead in the church around 5 a.m., about 30 minutes after she arrived that morning.
The vigil will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Kimmel Park, located at 124 N. First St. in Midlothian.
A memorial stone and a tree were planted in the same park last year in honor of Beavers.
Event organizers say it is “very important to keep Missy’s case alive” as no arrest has been made in connection with Bever’s murder.
