Walker felon pleads guilty to conspiracy to purchase gun straw

April 16 – WALKER, Minn. – A convicted felon from Walker has pleaded guilty for his role in an illegal firearms purchase conspiracy that occurred in May 2023.

According to court documents, on May 26, 2023, Donald Duane Armstrong Jr., 36, and a co-conspirator entered a federal firearms licensee in Walker, where the co-conspirator purchased a Glock Model 23 G5, 40 caliber semi-automatic pistol. , with the intention of transferring the firearm to Armstrong, a convicted felon.

Upon purchasing the firearm, Armstrong’s co-conspirator lied when completing ATF Form 4473, which shows that he was the actual purchaser/beneficiary of the firearm, when in fact the firearm was intended for Armstrong. On June 14, 2023, police executed a search warrant at Armstrong’s home, the documents said.

The police seized 14 firearms at the residence, including the firearm purchased on May 26, 2023. Because Armstrong has a prior felony conviction, he is not prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition at any time.
