A Wayne County man recently claimed a large Lotto 47 jackpot he won on a ticket sold in Westland.
The 57-year-old man, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased his ticket at Maple Drugs at 1949 Wayne Road, according to the Michigan Lottery.
It matched the numbers drawn on December 4 – 2, 10, 13, 24, 29 and 46 – and won the jackpot worth $1.05 million.
“The day after the drawing, I checked my Lotto 47 ticket by scanning it into the Lottery app,” the man told the Michigan Lottery. “When confetti appeared on the screen with the amount of $1.05 million, all I could think was, ‘It’s a miracle!’ An early Christmas miracle!’ It’s pretty amazing to invest $1 and win $1.05 million. This makes your financial future clearer.”
The ticket was one of three Michigan Lottery tickets purchased in Westland worth $1 million or more that were won or claimed in 2024.

The man chose to receive the prize as a one-time payment of approximately $728,000 rather than an annuity payment for the full amount.
He plans to use the money to help his family and save for retirement.
