What Steph Draymond Bluntly Said After Warriors’ Loss to Kings originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
The Warriors’ 2023-2024 NBA season didn’t end the way they would have liked, but a stern three-word message from Steph Curry gave Draymond Green some hope for the future.
On the latest episode of “Draymond Green Show,” Green revealed a conversation he had with his superstar teammate in the visiting locker room of the Sacramento Kings following their season-ending loss to the Kings in the NBA Play-In tournament.
“I love these moments because they never seem to come true,” Green prefaced. “Right after the game, in the Kings locker room, I said, ‘I love you, bro.’ He said, “I love you too, brother. We’re not done yet.”
“‘You’re right. Understood. Noted. Cool, we’re in. You’re right.’ So to think that we did these things, I think it’s amazing. And we do not finished.”
Despite turning a corner in the second half of the season, Golden State (46-36) finished No. 10 in the Western Conference.
Their road to the playoffs didn’t take long as their Northern California rivals dispatched them with a 118-94 loss Tuesday night at the Golden 1 Center.
Since the season-ending loss, much has been written about what the future holds for the Warriors’ Big Three of Green, Curry and impending free agent Klay Thompson.
But after the noise dies down and it’s time to get back to work, Curry has the utmost confidence in his team next season. And the NBA world has seen what happened if you doubt Curry and the Warriors.
