WWE SummerSlam 2024 live updates: full card, matches, results, numbers and analysis

Undisputed WWE Championship — Cody Rhodes (c.) vs. Solo Sikoa in a “Bloodline Rules” Match — The cards are against Rhodes, more than any other match during his championship reign. There were multiple references to Roman Reigns on Friday’s episode of SmackDown , and calling this match “Bloodline Rules” is just begging for a return from the Tribal Chief. This match will have a tough time matching the WrestleMania 40 main event — fought under identical terms — but should be a great way to end the show, with a potentially huge return that helps Rhodes retain his place. Prediction: Cody Rhodes to retain the undisputed WWE Championship

World Heavyweight Championship — Damian Priest (c.) vs. Gunther — Priest has had a solid reign, but it’s clear that Gunther is primed to take his place at the top of WWE by winning Raw’s biggest singles championship. This match has the potential to steal the show, with two relatively different styles colliding in the ring. Gunther’s hard-hitting style and Priest’s more up-tempo pace should make for a contender for match of the year, but the title will be changing hands. Prediction: Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship

WWE Women’s Championship — Bayley (c.) vs. Nia Jax — The big question here is whether Tiffany Stratton will cash in her new custom Money in the Bank briefcase. If so, she will leave Cleveland as the WWE Women’s Champion. Otherwise, I think Bayley will retain Charlotte Flair and possibly set up a showdown with her in the near future. Prediction: Bayley to retain the WWE Women’s Championship

Women’s World Championship — Liv Morgan (c.) vs. Rhea Ripley — Outside of the Rhodes vs. Sikoa match, no match on the SummerSlam card has a more emotionally driven story than Morgan vs. Ripley. Morgan won’t win clean here, but she could unexpectedly retain via a double-team effort by Dominik Mysterio, adding even more tension to their characters and protecting Ripley in the process. On the other hand, Ripley could win and set up the next chapter of this storyline by attempting to defeat Morgan and Mysterio, who are holding her back. Either way, it doesn’t appear that we’re done here. Prediction: Morgan to retain Women’s World Cup.

Intercontinental Championship — Sami Zayn (c.) vs. Bron Breakker — We saw this match last month at Money in the Bank, where Zayn won. While this will be his first singles match at SummerSlam, I do think Zayn loses the title to Breakker, who is clearly on the rise in WWE and has a bright future. Plus, depending on the outcome of the Preist-Gunther match, Zayn could lose and almost immediately have a shot at a newly crowned Gunther. Win-win. Prediction: Bron Breakker will win the Intercontinental Championship.

United States Championship — Logan Paul (c.) vs. LA Knight — The likely show opener, I expect a solid performance from Paul and Knight. Knight has been without a championship in WWE for a long time, so instead of thinking too much about it, I’m going to take a chance on it ending tonight. Prediction: LA Knight to win the United States Championship.

Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk, with Seth Rollins as special guest referee — Rollins will undoubtedly get involved in this, and it will likely cost Punk a win over McIntyre. A win for McIntyre keeps him in the mix for the World Heavyweight Championship while allowing us to have a brief Rollins-Punk feud (with some real-life beef included) before either one moves up the card. Prediction: Drew McIntyre to win.
