LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A 14-year-old has died after a crash earlier this week in Lawrence County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

According to ALEA, a 14-year-old Russellville boy died Friday from injuries he sustained in a crash earlier this week.

The agency said the crash originally occurred around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on Alabama 24 near mile marker 57, about three miles east of Moulton in Lawrence County. The crash occurred when a 2012 Toyota Camry in which the teen was a passenger was struck by a tractor-trailer truck.

ALEA said the 14-year-old was injured and taken to a local hospital, where he died later Friday from his injuries. The driver of the Camry, along with another minor passenger, were also taken to the hospital after the Tuesday crash.

The agency said no further information is available at this time as the Alabama Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
