MINNEAPOLIS — We’re closing out the week with a departing high, giving us a pretty good weather forecast for the Twin Cities on Friday.

We will be a bit warmer thanks to a southwesterly wind, with a predicted maximum temperature of 83 degrees. This will also raise the dew point a bit before we get into the weekend. There will be showers on Friday evening, but mainly in the west and north.

Highs will be in the low 80s this weekend. There is a chance of isolated showers and even a few thunderstorms on Saturday. There is nothing serious in the forecast at this time, but there are some cells of lightning and downpours possible. The afternoon and evening hours will be the most vulnerable to a passing shower.

On Sunday, the system looks set to be concentrated around Interstate 94, so expect a passing thunderstorm in the evening hours.

It will be quite unsettled into next week, with isolated showers and thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. There are some signs of warmer, drier weather towards the end of the week or into next weekend.
