Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper gave Giants legend Barry Bonds the respect he deserves.
And then a little bit.
Speaking to reporters at MLB All-Star Media Day on Monday, Harper was asked which players he has on his Mount Rushmore, which consists of two outfielders and two first basemen. These are the two positions the Philadelphia star has played in his 13-year career.
Harper quickly named Bonds as one of his two outfielders, but struggled to select other players. Eventually, he relented and selected Bonds for all four of his Mount Rushmore picks.
“Barry Bonds on all four, I think,” Harper concluded.
Harper is originally from Las Vegas. He grew up a New York Yankees fan, but clearly has a lot of respect and admiration for the MLB’s all-time home run king.
