Pfluger delivers Articles of Impeachment from DHS Secretary Mayorkas to the Senate

April 16 – WASHINGTON, DC – As House Impeachment Manager, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) on Tuesday forwarded Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ Articles of Impeachment to the U.S. Senate.

The articles prove that Secretary Mayorkas willfully and systematically refused to comply with the law and violated the public trust. The US Senate is constitutionally required to hold an impeachment trial. However, Senate Democrats have indicated that they may reject or table the articles, according to a press release.

“The evidence against Secretary Mayorkas is clear, comprehensive and compelling,” Pfluger said in the news release. “Every Senator who votes to reject the articles of impeachment is rejecting the cries of millions of Americans affected by the border crisis. I am proud that the House of Representatives has held Secretary Mayorkas accountable for the devastating border crisis. The Senate must fulfill its constitutional duty to hold a full trial, listen to the evidence and pass judgment.”
