Pleasanton Uber driver who suffered seizure reunited with woman who saved his life

A Bay Area taxi driver has been reunited with a woman he credits with saving his life after he suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel.

CBS News Bay Area first reported on Christopher Hunt on Monday. Hunt, an Uber driver, was searching for a passenger named Christine, who offered him medical attention after he suffered a seizure while driving her.

“I started shaking violently and couldn’t speak. She knew something was wrong,” Hunt recalled.

He was driving on Hopyard Road in Pleasanton when he suffered a seizure.

“I’m losing it fast, so instead I hit the brakes and she comes through the middle here. As soon as the car stops, she puts it in park for me,” he said.

According to Hunt, things became unclear from that point on.

“The last thing I remember was her on the phone calling people and me passing out. The last thing I remember was being wheeled into the emergency room on a stretcher,” he said

In an attempt to locate Christine, Christopher posted a message on Pleasanton’s Facebook page asking how he could track her down.

When the story aired, a friend of Cristina (her real name) made the connection. On Friday, CBS News Bay Area was on hand for the reunion.

“You’re so sweet… Give me a hug… I’m just a big ball of emotions.”

Cristina said she was so happy to hear Christopher was okay. Uber couldn’t give her those details.

“Honestly, it was a gift to see you again because I called Uber and asked if they could tell me if you were okay. I just tried,” Cristina said.

The card she received from Christopher contained an Uber gift card.

“I’m so grateful for it,” she said.
