Police are looking for two women involved in a series of robberies with tasers

Police are looking for two women wanted in connection with a pair of robberies committed while armed with a Taser.

They say they already have one of the suspects wanted in the incident, 35-year-old Antwaun Pollard, who was arrested April 5 after a robbery at a store in the 4000 block of S. Main Street, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Pollard and two unidentified women allegedly entered the store, where they grabbed some merchandise and attempted to leave without paying before being confronted by store employees. Police say Pollard allegedly threatened the employees with a Taser before they fled.

He was captured by police and the store’s loss prevention team, but both women were able to escape. The Taser has also not been recovered, police said.

Pollard was arrested and charged with theft and remains behind bars in lieu of $100,000 bail. He must appear in court again on Monday.

Days after the arrest, police say two women, who they believe are the same ones from the earlier robbery, committed a similar crime at a store in the 3200 block of South Central Avenue. They reportedly entered the store around 2:10 p.m. on April 10, grabbed items and tried to leave without paying. It is believed one of them was armed with the taser.

Researchers have described both women as between 25 and 30 years old.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact LAPD at (323) 318-3559.
