April 17—BEMIDJI — The Republican Party has endorsed its candidates for Minnesota House 2A and 2B for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Bidal Duran Jr. for 2A
and the incumbent
Rep. Matt Bliss for 2B.
Duran, of Bemidji, is a Marine Corps veteran with 11 years of service in law enforcement. He is a graduate of Bemidji State University with a master’s degree in criminal justice leadership and is pursuing a doctorate in public management and leadership.
He has been married to his wife Rebecca for sixteen years and they have three daughters. Duran has lived in Bemidji since 2011.
The current representative of House 2A, Matt Grossella Republican, announced late last year that he
would not stand for re-election in 2024.
Bliss has served in the Minnesota House of Representatives since he was first elected in 2016. An entrepreneur and U.S. Navy veteran, Bliss has served as Republican leadership on several legislative committees, including the Election Commission and the Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy. Commission.
He and his wife have four children and eight grandchildren.
