UPPER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – No one was injured when a school bus caught fire on the Garden State Parkway in Upper Township on Wednesday, according to Seaville Fire and Rescue.

Seaville Fire and Rescue Company and Upper Township EMS were called to milepost 20.8 on the southbound side of the Parkway shortly after 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, they saw heavy fire coming from the bus.

All 10 students and the driver had gotten out safely when crews arrived, officials said. Firefighters worked on the fire for about two hours.

Marmora Volunteer Fire Company provided additional water and manpower.

The bus was headed to Sea Isle City. The children were picked up at the scene by relatives.
