Seasonal conditions in the Philadelphia region Monday, tracking Thanksgiving storms. Here’s the full forecast.

After a quiet and windy (if not windy!) Sunday, we are quietly entering the holiday week, even though we have two storms to monitor in the Philadelphia region as we get closer to Thanksgiving.

The NEXT Weather Alert Team has new information on the timing and track of these storms several times a day, so check back here often for new updates.

Here’s the current travel forecast so you can plan and prepare:

Monday will be a great day to travel through the region with sunshine, increasing clouds and highs in the low 50s. The wind remains on the lighter side.

Storm No. 1 arrives on Tuesday. Temperatures are too warm for snow and we expect only rain showers, mainly in the morning, with totals less than a quarter inch. The sky will clear in the afternoon. Expect some wet roads during your trip and possible minor delays at the airport. Highs will be in the upper 50s. This will be the last mild day for a while.

Cold air arrives after Tuesday’s storm and highs will only be in the upper 40s on Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies and dry conditions. It’s perfect for traveling the day before Thanksgiving.

Storm No. 2 will bring periods of rain showers on Thanksgiving. Highs will be cold in the mid 40s, so no snow is expected in Philadelphia. There may be a mix in the Poconos right now. The rain should stop by evening. Roads will be wet and delays at the airport are possible.

The Poconos will see showers and some snow showers early on Friday. In the evening a clipper system comes in from the northwest. It will be weak and low in moisture, so spotty rain showers with snow showers are possible in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley. Highs will drop into the mid-40s. When traveling in the area, roads may be damp in places.

Saturday and Sunday will be the coldest of the season, with much of the area in the upper 30s during the day and dropping to the upper 20s at night. It will also be changeable on both days with a mix of sun and clouds. Travel should be clear to everyone going home.

Next Sunday begins the month of December, which is also the start of meteorological winter.
