PLYMOUTH — Jared Ravizza made his first appearance in a Massachusetts courtroom Tuesday morning to be arraigned stabbing at the weekend at a movie theater and McDonald’s on the South Shore.

The 26-year-old Martha’s Vineyard resident is accused of entering the AMC Braintree 10 without a ticket Saturday evening around 6 p.m. and stabbing four young girls inside a theater. The girls were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The mother of three of the girls stabbed said their attacker was “laughing all the time.” AMC said it has a “thorough review” of the incident and will have a visible security presence in the theater for the foreseeable future.

The police are investigating a stabbing at the AMC in Braintree.

About an hour later, authorities said Ravizza entered a McDonald’s drive-thru in his black Porsche. A prosecutor at Plymouth District Court said on Tuesday that he “briefly got out of the car and urinated in public”.

During an argument with a male employee at the drive-thru window, Ravizza jumped out of his car and stabbed the employee with what appeared to be a long kitchen knife, the prosecutor said. Ravizza then allegedly parked his car, walked into the restaurant and stabbed a female employee behind the counter. Both workers are in stable condition after being treated at hospital.

Ravizza was eventually arrested after a fiery crash in Sandwich.

Connecticut homicide investigation

Before the events in Massachusetts, sources tell the I-Team Ravizza was wanted in connection with a murder investigation in Deep River, Connecticut. A body was found there on Saturday afternoon after a report of a disturbance.

In Plymouth, Ravizza is charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and indecent exposure in connection with the McDonald’s attack. The defense has requested a competency assessment for Ravizza. He is expected to appear in a Quincy courtroom later to face movie theater stabbing charges.

WBZ-TV also obtained court documents showing that Ravizza allegedly assaulted his father on Martha’s Vineyard in April. Ravizza’s father told police he had a “mental breakdown.” Police signed a form to have Ravizza held at a hospital, but the hospital said an investigation by a mental health professional found this did not meet their standards and he was released.
