These are the local and national services affected by the global outage

According to an update from Crowdstrike, there is a global Windows outage, causing flights to be grounded and affecting global commerce.

News Center 7 has a growing list of local and state services affected by the outage, including:

Dayton International Airport

Delays at Dayton International Airport due to communication system problems. Read more here.

University systems were affected by the global outage, but have since been restored. Read more here.

State of Ohio WIC Program

Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County reported on social media that the state’s Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) computer system is down due to “technical difficulties.”

Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles posted on social media that the global outage is impacting its servers and that some BMV and Title services may currently be unavailable.

Ohio Department of Transportation

An Ohio Department of Transportation spokesperson confirmed the outage affected the department’s OHGO system.

Springfield Police Department

A spokesperson for the city of Springfield confirmed to News Center 7 that police were experiencing a “malfunction in state law enforcement reporting and recordkeeping systems, including the law enforcement automated data system.”

Riverside Police Department

A spokesperson for the Riverside Police Department confirmed they are experiencing “loss of access to several law enforcement related websites and portals.”

Dayton Children’s Hospital

While Dayton Children’s Hospital does not use CrowdStrike, some vendors do, a hospital spokesperson said.

“There are only a few areas affected and we have alternative systems in place. Families may experience a slight delay in getting to the pharmacy. Otherwise there should be no noticeable impact,” the spokesperson said.
