Thuringia afternoon attendance expected to remain stable at 32% compared to 2019

Turnout for state elections in the German state of Thuringia was 32 percent on Sunday afternoon. That is roughly the same as the turnout for the last election five years ago, when 31.2 percent of voters had cast their ballots by noon, local election officials said.

These figures do not include postal votes.

However, the 32% show more interest in the regional elections than was the case for the European Parliament elections in June or for the municipal elections this year.

In the June elections, turnout around noon was 24.3%.
