An 81-year-old woman has died after being killed in a collision in southwest Atlanta.
Atlanta police say they responded to the area in the 3700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. just before noon. Drive SW responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When they arrived, they found an 81-year-old woman who had been struck by a vehicle.
Before police arrived, the driver of the car fled the location. According to medical personnel, the woman died at the scene.

During the course of their investigation, police arrested a 49-year-old man and charged him with the woman’s death.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
